Family Farm Experience Leads Dallas Chapman to a Career in Supporting Agriculture

Aug 24, 2022 | Empowering Agribusiness Series

Dallas Chapman grew up spending time with both her father on the family farm in southwestern Kansas and her mother in the Chicago suburbs. The time she spent on the farm instilled a passion for agriculture from a young age. Dallas’s affinity for the industry motivated her to pursue a degree in agronomy at the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana with the intent of returning to the family business.

Upon graduation, Dallas took a job in central Illinois centered around corn and soybean seed. She wanted to build her value before returning to the family farm, but life shifted again and caused her to change paths.

“I always intended to go back and become part of the family business, but life steered me in other directions,” Dallas said.

New Beginnings

After marrying her husband, Dallas moved to Madison, Wisconsin, and took a commodity brokerage job with Blimling and Associates. When Blimling became part of Dairy.com, Dallas took on new roles in transportation, project management, implementation, and customer success, broadening her already extensive portfolio.

Dallas’ nearly 20 years with Ever.Ag have allowed her to grow and excel in each new role she has taken on.

“I’ve been successful in each role because of my ability to take on challenges, boil problems down to their basics, and find or build solutions,” Dallas said.

Driving Transportation Solutions

Currently, Dallas serves as the Director of Supply Chain and Transportation Services for Ever.Ag. Her position has four core functions, including leading 3PL hauler pay functions, managing her team’s customer success initiatives, heading up consulting projects, and helping build the business unit. She enjoys all the detail and creative work that goes into her role and how it allows her to collaborate with experts in all aspects of the agricultural supply chain.

“I love that each day brings new questions and challenges, and I thrive on that. I have a great passion for simplifying the overly complicated,” Dallas said.

She aims to optimize all aspects of the agricultural supply chain. She and her team understand the importance of solving these issues so that her customers can pass on an improved operation to the next set of hands.
